Wizards center Mahinmi undergoes left knee surgery
Washington Wizards center Ian Mahinmi of France was expected to miss between four and six weeks after undergoing left knee surgery, the NBA club announced Saturday. The Wizards said Mahinmi underwent successful surgery Friday to repair the injury but was expected to miss about four to six weeks — keeping the reserve center benched for the first month of the NBA campaign. Mahinmi had signed a four-year deal worth $64 million with the Wizards in July.

Poulter apologizes for British Masters snub
By Tony Jimenez WATFORD, England (Reuters) – Ian Poulter, tournament host for the British Masters on his home course at Woburn in 2015, has apologized for electing to miss this year's edition. When the British Masters returned to the European Tour schedule last season after a seven-year absence, it was announced that Poulter, Luke Donald, Justin Rose and Lee Westwood would share hosting privileges for the next four years.
