Resurgent McIlroy eyes golf’s richest prize
(Reuters) – Rory McIlroy's thrilling last-day charge to win at the Deutsche Bank Championship on Sunday gives him a real shot at securing golf's most lucrative prize before leading Europe's Ryder Cup defense later this month. The Ulsterman was at his vintage best to hunt down and overturn Paul Casey's six-shot lead with an exhibition of whirlwind shots in appropriately blustery conditions. McIlroy went into the event with a new putter and a new putting coach in Phil Kenyon, the Englishman who is now involved with seven members of Europe's Ryder Cup team.

Aussie Hend snatches lead at European Masters
Crans-Montana (Switzerland) (AFP) – Australia's Scott Hend will take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the European Masters in Switzerland after recording a five-under-par 65 on Saturday. Hend is chasing a second title on the European Tour this season after victory in Thailand in March, and the 43-year-old could have been even more handily placed if not for a bogey on the final hole. "I played really nice golf," Hend told Sky Sports.
