Hoffman maintains Houston Open lead
American Charley Hoffman maintained a one-shot lead at the US PGA Tour's Houston Open after Saturday morning's conclusion of the weather-hit second round. Hoffman had four birdies and two bogeys in his two-under-par 70 Friday that put him on 10-under 134. Americans Chez Reavie and Dustin Johnson also reached the clubhouse before darkness fell on 136, Reavie posting a 70 and Johnson signing for a 71.

Young Croatian ready for his shot at NBA fame
In front of a rowdy crowd and with a top basketball executive from the United States watching the game, an absurdly tall 18-year-old from Croatia took shots at his future. Dragan Bender's name is not yet well known beyond hardcore basketball fans, but that may soon change. Bender, currently playing for Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, is expected to be highly sought after by US professional basketball teams in the coming months.
